My husband passed away recently, and I have been trying to close his accounts, including his Edward Jones account. I am the executor and have supplied them with the paperwork authorizing me to do this.

No one else. However, they are refusing to close the account. Instead, they are insisting that I transfer it to a Fiduciary account to be held by them!!! I already have an Estate account!!

I have provided the very same documentation to other accounts, with no problems. I would highly recommend NOT putting ANY money with them, unless you don't care if you ever see again! In that case go to the Casino or play the lottery, you'll have more fun throwing the money away. In addition, you are suppose to complete a Risk Assesment.

I received a letter from the Corporate office, wanting me to verify the answers I gave. Guess what......never did one, so I wrote on the front...."NEVER COMPLETED, NEW ACCOUNT OR TRADES NOT AUTHORIZED" then sent it back.

Sent a Demand to Close account letter 2 weeks ago, have not heard back from them at all. Last thing my husband said to me was "good luck dealing with these idiots."

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: CLOSE THE ACCOUNT AS INSTRUCTED.

Edward Jones Cons: Bs iwas given.

Have your attorney or find one to handle them with this. Sounds like someone at Edward Jones is confused or reading the rules the wrong way.
